The story of Zenith and Lupin III begins with the character of Daisuke Jigen from the manga. He sports a stubble beard and a large hat that covers half of his face, exuding a mysterious gentlemanly vibe in his Fendi or Givenchy suits. As a former professional assassin, Jigen is skilled in multiple weapons, including even anti-tank artillery. His favorite weapon, however, is the Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver, paired with the powerful .357 Magnum bullet, which he can draw and shoot in just 0.3 seconds, showcasing his sharpshooting prowess. In the 1971 anime series, Jigen wore a wristwatch that was inspired by the Zenith A384 watch, which was favored by Lupin III's creator, Monkey Punch. The watch featured the world's first high-frequency El Primero movement, echoing Jigen's lightning-fast draw.

Only 50 of these watches were released, exclusively for the Japanese market. This collaboration marked Zenith's first foray into creating watches inspired by manga and anime.
