History of OCE

HISTORY

Open Culture Entertainment (OCE), formerly known as the New Business Development Department of ORIX (China) Investment Co., LTD., was led by ORIX Asia Capital in 2019 and established as a startup company within ORIX Corporation in April 2020. It has been entrusted with the strategic responsibility of ORIX Corporation to layout the film, television, and entertainment industry, and build a platform that combines "IP management + industrial chain (connection)" in China,Japan and broader area in Asia.

2015

May

The New Business Development Department of ORIX (China) Investment Co., Ltd. assisted in the release of Doraemon: Stand by Me in China. The film earning a box office of 530 million yuan marks the launching of new business for ORIX entertainment movies.

2016

Assisted in the release of Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan in China

Assisted in the release of Crayon Shin-chan: Fast Asleep! The Great Assault on Dreamy World! in China

2017

Assisted in the release of Doraemon: Nobita's Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi in China

Assisted in the release of Sword Art Online The Movie Ordinal Scale in China

2018

Assisted in the release of Doraemon: Nobita's Treasure Island in China

Assisted in the release of Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer in China

2019

May

Assisted in the release of Pegasus (Chinese: Feichirensheng), a Chinese New Year blockbuster, in Japan. It became the fastest domestic film to be released in Japan, setting a new record for Chinese films “going-abroad”.

Assisted in the release of Doraemon: Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration in China

Assisted in the release of Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire in China

2020

April

Open Culture Entertainment (Shanghai) Company Limited was established

Assisted in the release of Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur in China

2021

April

Assisted in the release of Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet in China, released at the same time as Japan.

The 3D animated movie, Doraemon: Stand by Me 2, released.

June

Assisted in the release of Rilakkuma and Kaoru in China and on major new media platforms.

July

Became the exclusive distribution agent for the release of Detective Chinatown 3 in Japan, boosting the overseas expansion of Chinese films.
