In an era where aliens coexist with humans, the spirit of the samurai, cherished for centuries, has waned under the oppression and rule of extraterrestrial immigrants. Yet, amidst this decline, a group of individuals silently upholds their principles and sense of justice. Shinpachi Shimura (played by Masaki Suda), a young man from a declining family, crosses paths with Gintoki Sakata (played by Shun Oguri), the owner of Yorozuya, and the brilliant girl Kagura (played by Kanna Hashimoto) after a chance encounter. The trio forms a strong bond. Their mutual friend, Kotaro Katsura (played by Masaki Okada), mysteriously disappears. During their investigation, a man named Nizo Okada (played by Hirofumi Arai) and a sword known as “Benizakura” emerge. Nizo Okada is an associate of the former anti-foreigner activist, Shinsuke Takasugi (played by Tsuyoshi Domoto), who despises this corrupted world and seeks its destruction. As the power of Benizakura grows, a dark cloud envelops the entire Edo city, casting a shadow of imminent danger.
